You can view migratory birds and reeds at a close distance and learn interesting stories about the migratory birds as told by an ecological expert tour guide. The tour runs 35 minutes and costs 4,000KRW . If you are lucky, you’ll be able to take in breathtaking sunset scenery. Jung Gyu-woon shouted out in surprise many times during the tour.

He was also pleasantly surprised by the Yongsan Observatory at the end of the reed path. The trip to the observatory takes an hour and a half, and offers a view of the S-shaped stream of Suncheonman Bay and reed field. Legend has it that a dragon lived near the Suncheonman Bay area and was so inspired by the breathtaking scenery that it dropped a magic pearl from his mouth while ascending to the sky.

The 2013 International Garden Exposition Suncheon Bay Korea was held in Suncheonman Bay area.
It is a global environmental festival over 150 years old. The expo was being held for the first time in Korea, from April to October, under the theme ‘Garden of the Earth’.
